Ifri Oudadane

Description

The coastal site of Ifri Oudadane, NE Morocco, is situated west of the Melilla Peninsula and 5 km to the east of the Oued Kert River mouth. It provides a stratigraphy featuring the transition from Epipalaeolithic hunter-gatherers to Neolithic food producers. The site is dated by 23 radiocarbon ages suggesting an occupation between 11.0 and 5.7 ka calBP. The well-documented Neolithic transition occurred at about 7.6 ka calBP. This transition is marked by the appearance of pottery, cereals and legumes (Linstädter et al., 2015; Linstädter and Kehl, 2012).
