Description

Shën Mitri is an open air site that is located on a plain with thick colluvial sediment layers south-east from the antique site of Butrint. Excavation took place along the eastern slope of Shën Mitri hill. The inventory of Trench D shows Bronze Age, Neolithic, Mesolithic and Middle Palaeolithic material. The subsurface characteristics of the area was geophysically measured and investigated.
